Over the Isleofview

Another lazy day on the memory foam. I was supposed to hang out with two different friends, but decided against it. I called one friend to cancel and she pointed out what a beautiful day it is today. And yeah, it’s beautiful and laying around with all the blinds shut seemed almost like a crime…but that’s all I could do. The other friend canceled on me first and she hoped I wasn’t mad…Mad? I don’t usually get mad when people cancel. I’m more likely to get mad if I’m forced to go somewhere I don’t feel like going.

Yesterday, I went to get my regular haircut, but this time I got highlights as well, since I wanted something different. But I begged her over and over not to make me into a tiger or zebra. I cannot imagine a more horrible fate. But they turned out fine…subtle. No need to tranquilize me and lock me up in the zoo…or for that matter, put me out of my misery.

I don’t really know how to describe my hair, except that it’s my normal haircut, with highlights, that I can see, but I haven’t really looked at my hair enough to give a good description. I’m sure the detail-oriented and critical will tell me how weird I look, but right now I think I look fine. After the salon, I had that, “I feel pretty” feeling that only a trip to the salon can bring, with the bouncy shiny, sweet smelling hair…So, I went to Trader Joe’s to buy cartons of tomato soup. And then went home to play Animal Crossing on my DS well into the night with my sister and nephew through the Nintendo wifi.

I was asked to take a picture of my new hair, but by that time, I messed it up by laying around in bed, playing Nintendo and it will never be the same until the next salon trip in 6 weeks. So most likely, the next time another human sees my hair, it will look just like how my hair was before the salon, since I don’t take that kind of time to blow dry it into shiny bounciness.

Since I changed my e-mail, I’m finding that I don’t check it anymore. I only check the e-mail address designated for “business” like bills and stuff. It was a really good idea to have e-mail for different categories of correspondence. It cuts down on internet time. So I didn’t get some of your e-mail until I thought to check it today. Also, forgive me because I lack the diligence to answer any of it, unless it actually requires an answer. Like Wilma’s question about how to get orchids to bloom. Here’s the answer I found on the internet (this worked for me), plus use the special blooming fertilizer you can get at home depot or lowes or wherever they sell plants and garden stuff: http://www.argusorchids.net/bloom.htm
Just thought I’d post it, just in case anyone else had the same orchid question.

On Friday I had pho and I made some turon at home. I didn’t fry it though, since I didn’t feel like frying at 11:00 pm. I baked it and it came out fine. I guess it was sorta healthier, but it didn’t have that oily crispy crunch that I so longed for. It gave a halfhearted crunch though. But it still had that delicious turony taste.

Oh. If you don’t know what turon is, it’s saba banana with jack fruit wrapped in a lumpia wrapper and fried. I know some people like to add brown sugar to that, but I think that’s a bit much. I found a recipe for cheesy turon. Do I dare? I have cheese, so I must. Maybe later tonight. I do have a question…my parents always substituted plantains for the saba banana if it was not available…is that the same thing or is it just a similar type of banana. I know they are shaped similarly. I wouldn’t know since I’m a person that confuses cabbages and lettuces, zucchinis and cucumbers.

I guess I’ll clean up my living room some more. Okay. Next weekend. Stick to the schedule…this weekend’s plans were followed MOSTLY…Eh. Maybe I should adhere to my plans strictly AFTER I go to my nephew’s birthday. Someone also talked me into joining the gym at SDSU. I guess it’s inexpensive enough to just do it…plus it’s a convenient trolley ride away. And it’s motivation when a friend actually goes with you to work out. Okay now…time to do as much home stuff as possible before I go back to THAT PLACE tomorrow.
